Collaguide® is composed of type 1 collagen and is derived from closed-herd bovine sources, with no chemical cross-linking, creating an excellent healing environment for both Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR) and Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) usage. These properties promote the resorption of the membrane and an excellent healing process. Collaguide® membrane produces a “barrier” effect in four months and is reabsorbed in eights.

Collaguide® membrane can be applied with any type of bone replacement or formation material on the market. It is recommended to use Cerasorb® bone formation material.

Its dense fibrous structure creates a porosity designed to retard epithelial down growth and prevent gingival connective cell migration into the wound site. As the barrier resorbs, fibrils that make up the membrane separate, creating a matrix that allows fibroblasts infiltration and cellular adhesion. Before the closure, it is possible to see the graft through the membrane.
