After treatment and decontamination, the implants proved to be perfectly cytocompatible, that is devoid of cytotoxic effects against L929 fibroblasts. In all wells, the cells always showed density and morphology fully comparable with those of the negative control. The fibroblasts proliferate homogeneously in contact with the implants as the Material does not release any cytotoxic element. Moreover, multinucleated giant cells were never shown in a significantly higher number than the negative control, indicating the absence of effects of an inflammatory type.
